The Christchurch Wargaming Club is going to be involved with the up and coming Christchurch Model Train Show held in Christchurch on the 6 and 7 of October.

Full details are at:

We have been allowed to put on some demo games and hopefully will have a couple of display tables for showing off some of the awesome models our members have put together.

The main two tables that we will be using for demo games these will probably include 40k, World War II based games (must likely Bolt action, but open to suggestions) and any other games that we believe would be interesting to the public. If we have enough room, we might be able to have a third table for displaying more demo games.

How can you help?

Volunteer Helpers.
We will require members to volunteer and help with the demo games and with public enquires. We are thinking of putting together groups of 5 to 6 on a roster. CWC will be there for the full two days and we are looking for people to work half day shifts. A committee member will be present on both days. Also setup is from Friday afternoon and pack up is after the event closes Sunday evening. This will require you to be presentable and happy to deal with the public at a face to face level. I believe there is a lot of families and kids that go through.

Display models, kits (anything with a WOW factor)

The expo is about show casing models and terrain and the train layouts on display are of a very high standard. We want to show case CWC and what we are about. So we are asking members if they would like to lend us any model kits that they believe would impress the public and give them examples of the models that we use for our gaming. We are happy to put a name tag and details of the piece you want to display. This is a selection process so we will require pictures of anything you want to put forward before we ok it. Every care will be taken to ensure your models are looked after over the weekend.
We believe as a committee this is a great opportunity for the CWC club to get some expose with the public and hopefully get some new members and people interested in the war gaming society in Christchurch.

If you are interested in getting involved or putting forward some models for the display please e-mail me at
