I'm glad that at least one person seems to like the new Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. Does someone in Christchurch actually play it?

Unfortunately I live in Dunedin (moved there from Germany a few months ago) and at the OMTS most people don't even know that WFRP exists. And the Roleplaying Society of the local University mainly consists of D&D nerds. :(
I've been running WFRP games for more than 15 years now and I would love to meet some people over here who love to play in the Warhammer World not only on tabletop.
Greetings from Dunedin,
Frank

Yes, I DM WFRP in Christchurch. All of my group (7 of us) is coming down for SouthCon, as it happens, so I daresay we'll bump into each other.
I'm sorry to hear that most of the people around your neck of the woods play D&D (Dumb and Dumber). WFRP is just so much more... grim.

I just realized I accidently spammed a thread that has been reserved for links with my last post. I'm sorry for that and would like to contribute a few more links to the collection. Although the most important ones I know are already included I'd like to point you to the websites of some official publishers in different countries.

There is a Polish version of the game published by Copernicus Corporation
http://www.copcorp.pl/

The French translationn comes from Bibliothèque Interdite
http://www.warhammerjdr.fr/

There is also a German edition in original Reikspiel from Feder & Schwert
http://www.feder-und-schwert.com/

At http://www.edgeent.com/warhammer/ there was also a Spanish publisher but the link is dead right now. I don't know if that's a temporary thing or whatever.

These publishers are mostly doing Translations from the BI stuff but some own original sourcebooks and adventures will be published in the future.
Even if you can't read Polish or German these sites might be worth a look. Some of them do have nice downloads and free stuff.
Take a look at that map of the empire: http://www.warhammerjdr.fr/telechargeme ... empire.pdf

Also visit the German site to see how the covers of the books could have looked even with the use of the same crappy artwork as from the original english ones.

Cheers, Frank

That is a nice map...

What I've actually always wanted is a list of common WFRP-type phrases in German/Reikspiel.
I can cope with basic greeting and farewell type stuff, but anything else and I have to scurry off to Babelfish. If only I'd studied German at University instead of those other useless subjects :x
