Hi all. As always I have a painting table laden with projects but can't help starting another.

Looking at my dark vengence Chaos models and thinking about using them as the basis for a Nurgle themed army. I dont have a current codex for chaos so Im asking for ideas on what are good units etc to add to the dark vengence chaos I already have.

Is there anything I need to know about collecting a Nurgle army ie anything they must/not have?

My budget is quite low for this project so Im going to be converting/bashing/trade me'ing, proxying and sculpting as much as I can

Im looking for a fun project to bubble (or fester) along in the background inbetween other things and as the mood takes me.

Cheers for any help

Plague marines are a feature in most chaos lists already.

i don't think i've seen a chaos list without nurgle mark obliterators

Spawn are common in the "internet meta" and can be marked nurgle.

Typhus and his zombie hoards are an interesting option modelling-wise since zombie models are either fantasy or 3rd party leaving lots of room for converting some (though since they can be in squads of 35, it might be a bit time consuming)

and the ubiquitous Helldrake can be converted to look very nurgle-y as well.

Thank you very much Wes. Some cool things to think about. I will have a look at posting some progress pics as I go.

Thanks for the help

So I can try and keep to the rough size of the originals can someone please tell me the approx size of obliterator models and how many people usually take and the size of chaos spawn models and also how many people use.

both are around the size of a Terminator, though Spawn are top heavy usually (smaller legs, bulky chests) and have various projecting limbs/appendages.

The Spawn box set comes with a heap of options so if you can get some similar size bodies from somewhere you can make quite a few from a single box

On the topic of converting spawn, I'd previously bought a box of spawn and then sold them, but I've got a box the spare bits, so was going to buy a box of ogres and make some mutated ogryns as my new spawn.

You could do something along those lines if you wanted extras. Keep the actual spawn for when you fail your chaos boon rolls....
