Either 1750 or 1850 would be my pick. 1500 is a little too small to have much fun with and 2000 is probably a bit big for a tournament where games need to be finished within a certain timeframe. Those of us that are a bit unfamiliar with the rules may struggle to manage 2000. If course beer makes all games go quicker though.

1750 or 1850 will be sweet as, at 5 or 6 games

Kill teams will be used at this year's CavCon (if i'm running it) along all manner of other nonsense. I like making Conquest the "normal" one in terms of scenarios, etc.

Zane's busted his butt to get Tempest working well at 1250 pts, but i could see him trying to run a Kill Team tourney next year (6 games in a day, etc etc)

I prefer 1750, for what it's worth.

That's about everybody then. I'm open to more opinions of course, but at the moment it looks pretty clear that Conquest will be 1750.

Having talked to Tim, he's hoping to hear back about the weekend after labour weekend in the next week. I'll have the 40k thread up and running as soon as i get that date.

Well you know I prefer larger limits but I like 1750pts for tournaments because its a good compromise of games not taking too long and still being able to take an interesting list without maxing out on all the overpowered toys.

I definitely don't like escalation style events so much, although you did a great job last time.

1250pts could be interesting but I think it favors hoard armies and msu armies like eldar quite strongly (not necessarily a bad thing, just saying) and you'd have to be careful what you allow with allies. The endless swarm plus Tervigons could be horrible at that level of points, on average you'd actually be facing well over 1500pts of nids for example. Scarab farm necrons could also be frustrating.

I know its hard for players without huge reserves of options for their armies but an event where you have 2 lists (from the same primary codex) and choose which one to field after seeing the mission but before seeing your opponents list could be an interesting concept. I think you'd be best to keep the missions a secret until the start of each round in this format though. I recon that would be a great format to spring some wildly "strange" missions on us forcing us to really think about which list to use.

A "Warma-hoards" style 2 list tourney could be great fun, yes. Have to be at a low pts value though to make sure that everyone had a real opportunity to vary their lists even if their collection is small.

And Shane, we should get a game in. I keep hearing stories from Chris and Karn about how horrible your bikes are, and want a re-match.
