Yesterday, Kamerryn and I got a reminder of why, despite its flaws, 40k is still the business, despite its flaws, its detractors, and its ever-increasing price tags.

in a 2000 point, 7 turn slugfest, my Reserve-Bomb Tyranids narrowly defeated the much-feared Imperial Guard Space Pirates by virtue of having one (1) poxy Termagant which I didn't pay for (Tervigon ftw) hiding in a building in his deployment zone, giving all the autocannons and multilasers the middle finger by making qute a few cover ssaves in the 7th turn.

After he calmed down a bit, Kam and I were discussing, and we felt that it's far better to have a close game than smash someone, or be smashed, ulcer-inducing and grey-hair maikng it might be.

So, in summary, I compare Warhammer 40K to an ageing stripper, somewhat overpriced, a somewhat faded glory, but still a favourite close to your heart (and wallet....)

/waxing euphoric

P.S. Reserve Bomb is damn fun to play.........

Well done, this is the best description of 40K I have seen for years. But remember, you can always return to the original vixen in all her glory if you just dust off those old books...
