any number of detachments, but no unbound, nor any Apocalypse formations; FW formations/detachments or armies are fine, of course, though FW models (or a "significant" conversion effort) are required. "Come the apocalypse" level allies are also not allowed. No ForgeWorld models can have "experimental" rules, so if you want to use fancy FW models, find a set of rules in a rule book that best reflects them

A maximum of THREE Imperial Knights (for those keen to take a Knight-based army) or TWO of any other Superheavy or (flying) Gargantuan Creature. So, for example: a single Imperial Knight and another Superheavy or (F)GC OR a single (F)GC and a superheavy are ok but 2 Superheavies and a (F)GC is not.

The "usual" local restriction for superheavies/(flying) Gargantuan Creatures is in place: no S10/SD, AP1/2, Ignores Cover 5"+ blasts, nor any hellstrom templates that have those rules OR the torrent rule. If you're super keen to play that FW knight (Andy) or that FW Astra Militarium Tank (JD), i'm happy to have you play them as though they don't have the torrent rule for those weapons

* Since this came up with a variety of locals, i thought i'd just make it clear how D weapons will be played at Conquest

Step by step it should look like this:

- Big gun shoots covers 5 single-wound models (daemonettes, let say, since they have an invulnerable save) with a 5" D pie plate

- 5 dice are rolled on the D table resulting in a 1, 2, 4, 4, and 6.

- One model is dead (the 6) with no saves allowed, one hit does nothing (the 1)

- There are now 3 "automatic wounds", so the Daemonettes would take 3 invulnerable saves. If a model fails a save, it'll lose d3 wounds instead of one. You'd roll to find out how many wounds it lost after it fails it save. *

Hi Wes,

Strewth 1750! Can I take a Gue'vesa unit for my Tau? They're in IA3 1st/2nd Ed, but state 'A Gue'vesa Auxiliary Team is a Troops choice for a Codex: Tau Empire army when used in a Taros Battle Mission'. I know they're crap (at 25 pts they'd have to be), but I could really use a cheap troops choice.

I promise I'll try to do slightly less crap than last year if you let me ;€)

Rich.

No worries at all Rich; feel free to take any FW units that aren't superheavies or that have "experimental rules" without checking. It's just the superheavies i'll be censoring.

Hi Wes,

Just another Question;
Can a supplement army list Detachment take Forgeworld 'Warhammer 40,000' additional units associated with it's parent Codex? (i.e. providing it's not an 'Apocalypse' Super Heavy as per your first post).
e.g. can an Eldar Iyanden Detachment take a Fire Storm from Doom of Mymeara listed as 'Heavy Support Choice for a Codex: Eldar army', Can a Farsight Enclaves Detachment take XV109 battlesuits etc.

I think you've possibly answered that above re: the Gue'Vesa, but just to be sure.

Ta.

Rich.

That seems fine, Rich. Anything that refers to "Codex: blah" you can think of as referring to "Faction: blah" since that's the terminology used in 7th.

Only superheavies will be restricted, so if you wanted Draigo and Logan (for example) that'd be fine. Weird but fine.

When you mean no FW unless you have the model does that include converted models as I was thinking of entering a chaos army with a Deimos Pattern Vindicator Tank Destroyer I don't have the actual model but if it is sufficiently converted to have a massive laser cannon of doom (using the skaven warp lighting cannon as bits so it is easy to tell difference from a normal one with its tiny cannon) is that cool?

If you've made a serious attempt to convert something, then yes. I'm not keen on having lego, cardboard, etc on the table any more than i'm happy to have someone point at an Assault on Black Reach tac marine and say: "This is my Marneus Calgar proxy"

So, in essence, the rule of cool applies 8)

Wait someone would actually try that? when is the final date for confirmation as I got to see if I can paint a few units in time for it which will really determine if I can enter or not

It's been done but we're trying to run a tighter ship these days

I'll require lists about 2 weeks before the event (exact date to be posted later) which is the unofficial cut off time for entry, so if you can sort yourself by then, there shouldn't be a problem.

EDIT: After much discussion, we'll be leaving the Warhound Titans at home for this event. Perhaps next year.

The discussion that lead to that being ok has prompted me to ease restrictions on Gargantuan Creatures and Superheavies in general, so have a look at the 1st post
