Are you looking at replacing WHFB with KoW?

I am going to put together a rough outline of a player pack to test the waters soon. Would prefer to run it as a one-day event.

No. I'm umpiring and I don't know how to play KoW, nor how to run a tournament in it.

Need to decide whether to keep doubles again.

That's really disappointing to hear.

There are a few of us happy to help out, or even step up and run it.

At this point it should surely be time to give KoW a crack?

Doesn't sticking to an unsupported system risk watching the fantasy scene fizzle out? If that does happen it will be too late to try out KoW...

Standing offer here from some local KoW players to run a tournament (or support an existing umpire in doing so). We don't have any interest in disrespecting you guys by trying to run it 'in competition' while you guys run an 8th edition tournament, so please don't take this is an attack.
Would love to see a vibrant fantasy scene supported by a living game :), if KoW is the way you guys want to go let us know when you're ready to give it a try.

I say we have no way of knowing how any of these other systems will turn out, but with 8th we know exactly how it turned out. its Complete.
That makes it solid and dependable in these uncertain times.
What if next week KoW or 9th release errata requiring us to eat kittens? I can't take that risk.

Just jumping in here,

9th Age could be quite good too. It seems very balanced and an easy transition. The same is said of KoW though too.

Personally I would prefer to play 9th myself but perhaps an option could be to run three mini tourneys? Perhaps with the same scoring system and combined painting and sports results?

That would cater to all but reduce the pool of players per system. It would however be a great way to showcase the new options...

Thoughts?

Cheers
Jason

Run em both, if they get the people willing to play them. Why wouldn't you?
