Just edited the first post a bit - now its 12 magic dice max use a magic phase, no matter where you get them from (keeps things simple), Dogs of War can be taken as an Army (because I like Dogs of War)
, and Dwarfs can take 4 Bot Throwers as well as other armies.
I see people do want both Blood and Glory and the Watchtower - I'll give some thought to them. (Expect both to be there, although we may need a lot of Watchtowers.)

Any other ideas or things people want to see at Natcon?

Cheers

John

Another question: Should the non Chaos Dwarf stuff from Throne of Turkymurkystan be used?

The Monstrous Arcana book is an expansion for Storm of Magic so thats out.
(Tempting that it would be to allow stuff from both that and Storm of Magic I know people wouldn't be keen.)

Dwarfs will have a new book by NAtcon so the extra bolts shooters will be non applicable

I would not want to see anything from SOC or any other book in a Natcon event other than the chaos dwarf list

My current thinking with the scenarios is that Battle for the Pass is awkward for the players and we don't know what space is going to be like to move around, Watchtower requires specialized terrain, and requires modifying to make it playable in a tournament situation, and Blood and Glory either can end within minutes or requires modifying as well. I want to keep modifying stuff to a minimum, but want it a bit more interesting than Battle Line 8 times in a row.

The other 3 scenarios are all fairly straight forward and easy to run or play.

There is no extra modification required for Watchtower & Blood & Glory. The player pack already modifies the victory conditions for the other scenarios. Its fairly common practice to either award 5 or 600 vps to the watchtower holder/breaker or add in a caveat that says the best you can achieve in these scenarios is an 9-11 or draw if you did not break your opponent/hold the tower.
I like the second option better

Are there any race specific restrictions to army lists?

Will broken FAQ's be ignored like the one giving Fast Cav unlimited reforms to prevent broken people taking Hexwraiths ????

HI Everybody

Sorry to take a while to get this posted but here's the Army Restrictions for Natcon:

Thank you to Pete Dunn for this:

FOB-Lite Composition
31 October 2013 Version

MAGIC DICE

Power Dice usage is limited to 12 in any one Magic Phase.
Night Goblin Mushroom D6 do not count as "power dice" as per their Army book.
Chaos Dwarfs’ Chalice may not be used mid-spell.

LIST RESTRICTIONS
• No single non character unit in the army may be over 500 points
• No triple of the same warmachine except for Elven Bolt Throwers/O&G Spear Chukkas where you may take up to 4
• Max 4 units with the ‘Fly’ or 'Hover' special rule
• BSBs in older books are assumed to have mundane weapons as per core troops
• “Fozzrik’s Folding Fortress” may not be taken.
Race Specific Restrictions:
Skaven
• Hell Pit Abominations and Warp Lighting Cannons are 0-1 unit selection per army.
• A Screaming Bell or Plague Furnace may only be placed in a unit containing no more than 50 models.
• Gutter Runners units are 0 – 2 per army.
• Warlock Engineers are 0 – 3 models per army.
Tomb Kings
• Khalida is restricted to unit with 40 shots
Daemons of Chaos
• Beasts of Nurgle restricted to maximum of 6 in list with Epidemius
Ogres
• Ironblaster 0 – 1 unit selection per army
• You may take either Dispel Scroll or Hellheart, not both
Dwarfs
• To Be Determined when the new book comes out.
Chaos Dwarfs
• Magma Cannons are 0 – 1 choice
Warriors of Chaos
• Crown of Command may not be taken on model with Third Eye of Tzeentch

I've updated the first post with this as well and I'll get a printable full version including round times and scenarios posted next week. Which scenarios do people want to play multiple times? With 8 rounds and 5 scenarios there will be some double ups.

Cheers

John

Battle line. Blunt, boring (maybe) but fair. (NZTC was only battle line last year and I didn't have a problem with it)

You could always go for battleline with deployment zones slightly different to keep it interesting. Ie, angle zones/deeper deployment but otherwise just a battleline.

Updated the first post a bit - added that Special Characters may be taken, and that both Blood and Glory and Watchtower will be there.

We'll need some Watchtowers. :)

Time Table:
(May be subject to change depending on feedback)
Friday:
Venue Opens at 8.00
8.30 Natcon Competition Briefing
Competition Starts 9.00
9.00 - 11.30 Round One – Dawn Attack
11.45 - 14.15 Round Two – Blood and Glory
14.15- 14.45 Lunch
14.45 - 17.15 Round Three – The Watchtower

Saturday
09.00 - 11.30 Round Four – Battleline
11.45 - 14.15 Round Five – Meeting Engagement
14.15-14.45 Lunch
14.30 - 17.00 Round Six– Blood and Glory (maybe - any others people would prefer?)

Sunday
09.30 - 12.00 Round Seven – Battleline
12.00- 12.30 Lunch
12.30 - 15.00 Round Eight – Watchtower
15.30 - 16.00 Cleanup
16.00 Prize Giving

Blood & Glory and Watchtower scenarios will be used. The achievement of the scenario objective will be worth 600 VPs. Victory points will be determined as normal on top of this, however the scenario winner will score at least 11 points. The loser’s score is capped at 9 points
Blood & Glory will continue for six turns while Watchtower will have random game length as per the rulebook.

The rules for Sports and Painting have been added as well.

What do people think?

It all looks pretty good. Actually looking forward to trying a special character for a bit of army theming. Really not keen on multiple blood and Glory' though gotta be my least favorite scenario.
