Fleet exercise Natcon
2017 player pack
Theatre of operations
Location: To be held at the Woolston Working Mens Club, 43 Hargood st, Christchurch, on behalf of the Christchurch Wargaming Club. Easter weekend 2017, Friday 14th April to Sunday 16th April.

Rules of engagement
Dystopian wars rulebook 2.0 (2.5 may be substituted if out in sufficient time)

Order of Battle
• Naval core, with a 1250pt limit.
o Allied nations may be taken as part of your non-core force.
o Fortifications are allowed, as are strategic/operational assets (repair boats etc) and these count as non-core.
• TAC cards will be used, consisting of a 5-card deck which will be included as part of your fleet list.
• Advanced/reserve forces are allowed, up to 625pts.
• 1 Dreadnaught class model is allowed per fleet
o Dreadnought robot/ dreadnaught mobile fortifications not allowed (pending errata)
o (the Ice maiden expansion is still to be evaluated for balance)
• A maximum of 20 additional wings of tiny fliers will be allowed, in addition to the 10 local air support.
• Local air support type may be declared when they are deployed, although squadron sizes must be fixed throughout.
• A limit of 325 points of non-core models can be included. Small class: 200-625 points Medium class: 350-625 points Large/massive class:300- 625 points.
• Invaders are not permitted for tournaments.

In addition- have a book of rules, tape measures, dice, models for your fleet and tokens, 2 copies of you army list and fleet stats for your fleet.
Campaign plan
2 day event- $40 entry. (I’m going to plan for 5 rounds / 4-8 players)
Each round- Allowing 2 and a half hours
Day 1
Doors open 8:00 am, Admiralty briefing 8.30
Game 1- 9.00-11.30
Game 2 12.00-2.30
Game 3 3.00- 5.30
Day 2
Game 4 9.00-11.30
Provisioning (Lunch & Fleet review 11.30-12.30-.
Game 5 13.00-15.30-
16.00- results/prize giving
Draws
Player numbers dependent the draw will be a round robin if 6 players, if more than 6 then random/not in town for day 1.
Points- each score will contain the following
1. Battle results- the victory points and objectives for each round
a. (see battles)
2. Gentlemanly conduct- The sportsmanship score- Marked each round in game 1-5 (1- opponent is a bounder and cad, 3- a fair and honest opponent, 5 – a true gentleman/woman)
3. Fleet composition- A subjective measure of a fleets ‘toughness’ in design 1-5 scale, measured at end
a. 1- ‘why did my opponent buy all unarmed barges’
b. 3- ‘A solid regular fleet’
c. 5- ‘
4. Fleet review- the painting check on day 2- 1-5 for fluff and paint jobs
a. Paint 1- has a spot of paint, 5 ‘how did you do eyebrows on the captain’ -
b. Fluff- 1- ‘no names/history, 5 ‘ a detailed history of this force
Battles
Missions will be chosen by the players at the beginning of each game. This means you (and your opponent) will be allowed to pick (in secret) from the following.
• Score 625pts (50%) and destroy all small class models
• Score 625pts and destroy all medium class models
• Score 625pts and destroy all large/massive class models
In addition, 875 Points is a victory.

Victory points are tallied at the end of each turn.

Results for a round

Major victory
Meet scenario objective 5
Minor victory Objective not met by either side but more points of opponents sunk at end of game 4
Minor loss Opponent score minor victory 2
Major loss Opponents scores major victory 1
‘unexpected defeat’ Opponents major victory but you have killed more points of their fleet +2 vp
Close run thing Opponents points killed less than 50 points more than yours (but not unexpected defeat +1 vp
“from hells heart’ Lose but kill the enemy commodore +1 vp

After this date, Umpires have final say on entries to ensure even player numbers. Late payment means a result of last position in your system, and not eligible for random prizes.

In addition to this, there will be a Natcon dinner on the saturday night after all gaming is done.
Its $37 for buffet style meal served at the venue. (And yes the food here is good)
PLease pay via the same method as your gaming entry, and include your name. Either a seperate or all together works fine.
