If both players are keen to get stuck in 2 hours is plenty, try to many tricky manoeuvres and time can disappear fast.

Saying there is enough time to line and up and charge does not necessarily make a good game. I think we need to be prepared to see how the first round or two goes and then adjust if time is not working out. At the moment we are talking about 6 hrs playing time a day we could adjust that if we needed to.

Having played a mounted army at the Australian Nationals with a 2 hr timeframe I decided not to bother as I did not believe it was sufficient time.

I am looking forward to cooking some elephant kebabs (preferably Hindu flavoured), maybe elephant haggis.

Cheers
Shaun

I don't think we should change the published comp conditions as people will have chosen their armies and practiced on the basis of the 2 hour timeframe. If players now find that their chosen army can't break an opponent within 2 hours then tough!

There was plenty of time months ago for those who went to CanCon to lobby Andre to change the NZ timeframe if there was widespread consensus that 2 hours was not long enough.

Thanks for a great comp Andre. I think we all found that the 2 hour rounds worked well and allowed us to easily get through 3 games per day, and still have some relaxing time in between.

Thanks again Andre. Awesome weekend, lots of fun. Look forward to the next event.
I propose 2.5 hours for next event though, most people completed in time however I think people would rather a result that a draw. Open for debate.
If all finish earlier then the next round can be brought forward.

We probably can do 2.5 hour games. But there were only a few draws at 2 hours and half of those would still have been draws 30 minutes later. Certainly we had spare time at the end of each of the days.

That will be up to the organizer of the next tournament to decide. It won't be me, I have several different armies I want to try out.
