Who's the boss? will be an SPCA charity event based on a casual fun format where you make 1 army list like normal, with 5 beast/jack points but no warcaster/warlock. Each round you randomly determine who your caster will be from any faction except your own! The Warcasters focus becomes fury if it's added to a Hordes army, or the same if it's a Warlock going into a Warmachine army. Your adopted caster counts as friendly faction an changes the wording of his spells to fit if he is in Hordes or Warmachine (eg target friendly warjack would become target friendly warbeast in a hordes army).
This is a super fun event that's becoming very popular in the US, and you will be able to donate extra money to get special bonuses during the game. You can make the donation at the start of any round.
Respin: Randomly determine a new caster for your army. $5
Dealers choice: Ask me to pick a new caster for your army that I think would be interesting. $5
Double cross: Swap casters with your opponent! $10
Players choice: You pick your caster for this round. $15
Rerolls: Must be brought before turn 1 and used up that round. $5 for 3

Entry fee will be just $10 and every single cent will go to the SPCA. I will be donating the prizes myself as my contribution to the cause, and I'll let people know what's up for grabs closer to the time.

What: 35 points, one list, no Warcaster/Warlock
When: 28/9/13, starting at a relaxed 10:30am to make life easy for out of towners.
Where: SAS club where Cav's meet, 269 Hills Rd, Chch

If anyone has any feedback on the format or the donation levels then please chime up, as I would really appreciate any support in making this event a success for the SPCA.

That's an interesting idea... it has merit. :D I'd like to hear more opinions on rerolls though, as I've been to other events with donation based rerolls where it has caused a lot of controversy.

Added reroll option and reduced donation $ values so people get more bang for their buck. Thanks for the suggestions guys, keep em coming.

Changing to 35pts to fit in more games and make the event more accessible to new players.

do you want people to bring a couple of warcasters/warlocks to add to the pool?

Yes, as per the original poll in the Warmachine section I'll be relying on people bringing plenty of casters to make up the pool.

Date changed due to double booking by the SAS club.

Your wording for when you can buy the different things is a little muddy especially as you say "at the start of any turn" and then go to make several changes would you mind clarifying... other then that this looks like a huge amount of fun... can't help feeling there is potential for some seriously broken combos ... and that's half the fun

Just another thought regarding buying things if someone purchased a specific warcaster could their opponent then pay to swap with them or can those swaps only happen with random selection casters?... this is just an example I feel there may be plenty of weird timing issues when both people are willing to drop money

You both decide what you want to purchase at the same time and then reveal, just like picking lists in a normal SR. Swaps are resolved before respins/picks. If you don't like your respin you can pay for another respin or a pick but can't swap after the first lot of swaps have been resolved.
Thanks for the question! :D

How many jack/beast points do the lists presume?

Also, do you have a full unit of incendiarii. Not that I would want to bring the glorious bronzeback and cheerleaders to such a party.

+5. So you make one 35 point list with 5 free warjack/warbeast points. Also yes I do.
