Yep, definitely the highlight of the gaming calendar.
The auction was fun too.
Only thing I would improve would be turning on the heating.

I'm sorry I never managed to organise getting down for this; Nathan said he might let me play a Zoat!!

Next year maybe.

You would've loved the auction, Mike. People were bidding crazy money on odd figures.

But now I have an engineer on a Mechanical Steed!

Cheers Nathan, another awesome event. I can't wait for next years. The last mission I played was awesome. The trolls were the downfall of the hex wraiths and the demigryph knights and then turned on each other as they ramaged their way across the board.

A huge thank you to everyone who turned out. It makes all the work worthwhile to see people getting into this kind of gaming.

Also I'd like to say a huge thanks to Ben for suggesting the model auction. $432 was raised and everyone got right into the spirit of it which was great to see. If you're curious where the money will be going this is their 'Givealittle' page:

http://www.givealittle.co.nz/cause/andrei

I said the rest would go to NZBlood but upon looking at their website it seems they don't need money so much as they do blood (funny that). So if you'd like to carry on this good charity you've all started give them a call and make a booking. Only about 4% of the population donate blood but most of us will need it at some point in our lives. If we don't donate we can't really complain if we find there's not enough to go around.

Their website is here:

http://www.nzblood.co.nz/

To make an appointment call 0800 448 325

Thank you very much for running this again Nathan!!! :D Get better and better and agreed with the others about it being the highlight on the gaming calendar :D

Concerning blood ... it seems kiwis don't want blood from others people which are not kiwi so even if I'd like to give I cannot ... dirty dirty dirty french blood

Concerning feedback:

What I liked:
- the sidebar (quite a few people played with them in the last game even though they were not part of the scenario)
- the auction (was fun and for a good cause)
- judging the painting on the sidebar (even though mine was not painted ...)

What I didn't liked:
- the heating on sunday (if you can do anything about that). I've been 3.5 years in NZ now but still got the new caledonian's love of hot temperatures :P (although I want SNOW this winter!!!)

Big thank you to you Nathan,
not only did you run the event but you also managed to fill in an empty spot so the 40k guys could continue to have an amazing weekend.
next time your not run off your feet im sure there will be a few beers in your direction so you can drink them.

I feel sadness that I have missed what was obviously a great weekend.
I shall have to travel up next year.

Would be great to have some Dunedin guys up next time. I'll even shout you all a beer. Not Speights though because that stuff is awful.

Got the final faction points scores up as well as the photos for Round 1. A bit too much to post here but if you're interested they're on the blog:
