Why does he have a dark elf sword? Doesn't quite feel right for some reason

It is a great figure.
If I got it I don't think i'd have the heart to convert it.

£55.00 though...

It's a Daemon Sword he picked up somewhere. So long since I read the book I can't really remember.

It's a sword stolen by the World Bearers naugthy chaplain Erebus from the human civilisation fighting Chaos that Horus visit with his Lunar Wolfs. He then gave it to Horus who in turn gave it to Fulgrim so he could kill the Primarch of the Iron Hands, Ferrus Manus.

That's the story if I remember well :P

Well its good that there's some reasoning behind it rather than that its just a generic bad guy looking sword. Its the little things that matter.

I don't really play halflings. I use halflings in my Dogs of War army. And I hate halflings.

Almost(ish)
Thats the other sword, the second one he got.

The sword he is wielding in this model is the daemonic one he got from the island world of the Laer with the cities made of crystal. Its the one he grabbed from their central chamber that they tried to defend so much. Its the sword who sent him down the path questioning the Emperor and bringing him to the side of Horus. Horus then gives Fulgrim the Anathame which was used to mortally wound Horus on the moon of Davin.
The Laer blade is the Slaneeshi blade that corrupts him IIRC

Simon explains all here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpApZeG3GuQ
