40k Tempest 2011

Saturday 30 July
$15 entry fee
One day event

Funds raised are to go Canterbury Child Cancer. The will be places for additional donations if you feel inclined. We are donating to Child Cancer cause due to earthquakes they got their funding cut, and the commitee thought that these children need the money.

4 games, 1000pts like last year.

For something "different", any unit may be taken once. This means only one of each dedicated transport, one of each unit choice.
the exemptions are:
Anything which has multiple "units" take up a single slot (tomb spyders, BA priests, Imperial Guard platoons) may take one slot worth.
Black Templar and Necron who only have one troops slot, may have two to cover min FOC.

Special Characters will be allowed
No Forge World (everything is banned, don't ask)
One normal FOC

Missions will objectives, kill points, a rehashed 4th ed mission and something for the lols. If you have played at other tournaments I have ran they will be "improved" versions of previously used missions.

Painting is required to be a 3 colour minimum. If your army doesn't comply there will be a penalty to your overall score.

Armylist need to be submitted by 22 July. please send to ultra_papa_smurf@hotmail.com or PM on the forums. I will send a reply to confirm your list arrived.

'Ard boyz are still boyz just with an upgrade, fundamentally the same as having a marine squad with a special/heavy wepaon.

Unit entries is the way to tell units apart but if in doubt ask here and if needed we can argue about it.

You said no Forgeworld stuff, but I was just wondering, I have a Biker Warboss model from Forgeworld, so can I not use the model as a regular biker boss, or do you just mean forgeworld rules 'n' stuff?

@Alphz. The painting will be the minimum 3 colours (i knew i forgot something in the first post), but there will only be a penalty for not painted, no reward for good painting.

@Peej0r. No Forgeworld means nothing that required rules from a FW publication. So people are free to use the models so long as the rules come from a codex. So in your case you may use the biker boss as a normal warboss on bike.

OK, so if I understand what you are saying, it is a minimum of 3 colours (at the discretion of the TO) to not get a penalty. However, I can still participate if I don't make the standard, but will receive a penalty to my overall score?

Deciding between FoW and 40k, Few questions in regards to Tau

1. Tau only have 2 elite choices so does this mean we can only take 2 elites while everyone else can take 3 ? If so any way we can balance that out ?

2. Tau only have 2 troop choices, so does this mean I can only bring 1 unit of Fire Warriors.

3. Special Characters Allowed, OUCH, tau have nothing for special characters worth playing, can you tell GW to write us a new codex !

One would think at 1000 points neither of these would be a particularly big issue. Elite units and Special characters tend to be quite expensive afterall.
