Haha phase out is a massive disadvantage and one that is hard to get around. Problem with necrons is we are still paying the points for warriors that are now not nearly as effective as they used to be. Guass weapons where nurfed like nothing else, but we still pay the expensive 18 points per warrior.

Hopefully GW will stop being lame and give us a new codex (along with sisters, Tau and anything else thats still an editon or two behind....) but it won't be for a while, So whilst you are all running around with your op marine offshoot codex's we are left in the dim dark ages of 3rd ed. Yey. phase out is a disadvantage that no other race has to suffer.

Anyways thats this years rant, see you all at Tempest. :D

Be glad if GW doesn't wait as long as it did with the Dark Eldar and Ork codices to go over the older armies.

My personal expectation is that Necrons will be redone when the following conditions occur:
1. They manage to create a bunch of new units that are interesting to prevent the codex being the borefest it is now.
2. They sculpt a bunch of said new units. And resculpt a lot of the older ones to be more in keeping with any new asthetic they come up with/replace old moulds
3. There is sufficient demand for a new codex to warrant the outlay

Its actually impossible to achieve a major win in the first mission.

Will the missions be played in the order specified?

Get 4 objectives or wipe them out. Seems quite possible to me.

Touche, objectives should read victory points. Still he's quite right, how do you get more than 3 victory points?

Are you meaning me or him?

So is there supposed to be 4 objectives, or is a major win only 3 VP?

Yeah my brain was in standard mission mode and couldn't even comprehend scoring objectives during the game.
