Last year, Andy and I playtested some 'War of the North' lists. In my (absolutely non-biased) opinion, these lists made the game work a LOT better. However, I really miss my army of Gondor (or oftimes 'the Reunited Kingdom'). So Andy used the Dol Guldur list that we'd done and I just took the Gondor list, bumped the cost of the 25pt infantry up to 30pts, used the houserules, and once more Thorongil went forth in the service of Echelion II to strike at threats to the Kingdom of Gondor. Afteral, the Necromancer of the Hill of Dark Sorcery was but a charlatan and his Orc rabble could be crushed easily by the Men of the West...

Wow that snow effect was cool! Though too many pics of it slowed my old computer to a crawl...
Great report mate!

@ Mark, thanks. Admittedly it is a bit '1990s and I've just found the internet' of me, but it looked so cool I had to do it.

@ Wallacer, Nostalgic? Here in the city of thriving Bloodbowl, Mordheim, Epic and BFG, there is no reason why fans can't revive yet another of GW's neglected but best games!

I'm working on a C15th Italian / Warhammer DOW army atm but may just make Isengard next on the to-do list.

I write to you, Lord Ecthelion, for somewhere to the east of the mighty Anduin. Imrahil, was leading us to the relief of Thorongil's army. We were not aware of their defeat and the falling snow masked the enemy's approach. It was only the unexpected shying of the horses, balking at any further advance, that alerted to us to the approach of deadly spirit hosts. The silent ghosts were come to bring us death in the falling snow.

Can a young Imrahil win free of the Necromancer's trap?
