Hi,

The points system works much like that of WFB and many other systems too, i.e. you pay a set number of points for each figure and can then buy extra equipment, etc. Heroes can cost 100's of points whilst many troops are less than 10pts. (Obviously I cannot and will not post stats or pts) Whilst you buy groups of figures they are not really units as there are no formal unit cohesion rules in LOTR. I'll try to remember to bring along my rulebook on Sunday then you can have a look. Most scenarios either specify troops or give restrictions, e.g. only 33% may be armed with bows.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Matt

Ahh, I see, well kind of. Seems sensible. For some reason my brain was in competition mode, I wasnt thinking about scenarios, more comp matches, but there isnt anywhere near enough players to come forward for that! Better anyway, kinda need to know the rules first before I go jumpin outta plane!
Ok itll be good to see you tomorow hopefully, I wont be there till about 12.30 to 1ish

Cheers

Hey Matt, I was down there last sunday, and I stared a campaign with another member. Problem is hes kinda using mordor and Im using Isengard, which isnt much of a problem but can get a bit confusing. If you wanna join thats fine, but I spose you'd have to go on my team or his.
I lost the 2 battles we did, I dont have enough special units, only Lurtz, and hes not to good against 100 goblins and 2 cave trolls
But I enjoy the gaming, and its very friendly and easy to pick up! After just one sunday I know all the basics and probably most of the advanced rules! High praise indeed :D

Gidday,

1. I have a good army of dwarves with wood elve allies and an ent. + orcs, gobbos, trolls, urak hai trackers, a mumak, harad, and a mighty dragon

2. Er, a lot? about 200 models

3. every last one is painted (HINT bach painting an entire box of dwarves is really, really BORING)

4. I have been playing since the battle for middle earth packs came out, but only bought 6 of 7 of them. From there I bought stuff from Toyworld and comics compulsion + America GW

5. yes, + the Hobbit, and the Silmarillions. great books
