Seven punters. So we've got three votes for 1500pts (Martin, I, and a third) vs four votes for 1000pts. We've also got five (I'm the odd one who would like one day of big games) guys voting for one day events.

If we DID go big, some of the players with smaller armies could borrow elements of other guys' collections to be 375pts of allies and help bulk them out? If you have a smaller army, some allied troops or whatnot are a good way to scale it if you just stick to buying heroes from within your own list. :)

Oh and in response to the suggestion to try and pair Evil vs Good, I'm not so sure that's the best idea. It would definitely make the decision to go as Evil for me.

My top 5 lists, from teh interwebz, that I wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley:

1. Gorgoroth Orc Horde packed full of Nazgul (unless I had a Mumak!).
2. Morranon Orcs + at least two-three (out of Khamul, Betrayer, Knight) Wraiths and Gothmog. Maybe some allies like Corsair Arbalesters but this is optional.
3. Moria Goblins with the foot-soldiers proxied as Gundabad Black-shields instead of Goblins w shields (the same cost!) and the troops being something like Spiders and/or Prowlers. Druzhag and Durburz to lead - an allied Mumak seems to be the popular thing too but the Stone-giant would be a softer option.
4. If it's 1500 pts, the Ringwraith 'Flying Circus' Battlehost.
5. Just to gratify Kruger: Saruman and his pals from the Isengard list with plenty of xbow, Ferals, and probably Druzhag to join in. We tried it only in the interests of 'Science', honest.

They're all evil lists! Not having to face that type of thing might skew the mix of Good and Evil lists we see on the day.
