NEL-Con 2007
Player information

Date: Saturday 2nd June, 12pm - Monday 4th June, 4pm

Programme: Starts at mid-day on Saturday with army display and judging of all armies for painting points.
Two games will be played on Saturday afternoon/evening.
Three games will be played on Sunday starting at 9am.
Two games will be played on Monday starting at 9am.
Prizegiving will follow as soon as possible after the final game and is expected to be over by 4pm.

Venue: Athletics Nelson clubrooms, Pioneer Park, Hastings St., Nelson (near The Warehouse and opposite the Spotlight store).

Army: 2250 pts (note this is an increase on that originally advertised)
Usual restrictions, no special characters or alternative back-of book lists, no Storm of Chaos or Lustria.
All lists to be open throughout the tournament and must clearly identify all magic items and unit upgrades and points cost.
WYSIWYG preferred but not enforced. Army lists must be emailed to dixond@clear.net.nz by 20th May.

Entries: Entry fee of $20 payable by 20th May (This is non-refundable and last-one-in is first-one-out should there be an un-even number of entries and no substitute available).
Post to Dave Dixon, 760 Main Road, Stoke, Nelson 7011. Cheques payable to D.Dixon.

Games and scenarios:
All games will be pitched battle but there will be “Battle Line Deployment” for games 2, 4 and 7.
This is similar to hidden deployment with both players simultaneously deploying a pre-determined battle line for their army, fitting around terrain as best as possible.
Games must be completed within 2½ hours and a bell will be sounded at intervals to help you keep to time.

Tables and terrain:
All terrain will be provided and independently set up prior to each game.
Terrain will be re-arranged between games.
Roll a D6 to allocate table sides (1-3 one side, 4-6 the other) and roll a D6 to choose order of deployment.

Prizes:
Trophies and cash prizes for Winner, Runner-Up, Sportsmanship, Best General, Best Painted, and Best Army (combined painting and composition scores). Plus our traditional Wooden Spoon for last place!

Scoring:
Generalship approx. 60% of total tournament score.
Victory points will be awarded for each game in the usual way and Battle Points calculated as 10:10 for a VP margin of <300pts, increasing by one Battle Point for each extra 150 VPs to a maximum of 20:0 for a margin of 1650pts+
Painting approx. 20% of total tournament score.
All players will judge all armies before the start of play on Saturday, allocating a score of 1-5pts.
NB. Armies NOT painted by the player are allowed but will NOT be eligible for Best Painted award. In addition, the tournament score allocated to that player for painting will be the calculated average of the painting scores for all other competitors.
Composition approx. 10% of total tournament score.
Lists will be scored for composition by an independent judge (1-4pts) and these points added to a score calculated from the Avian Fluffiness Scale (see http://folk.ntnu.no/tarjeia/avian/calcu ... finess.php).
Fluffiness rating of 1+ scores 4pts, zero scores 3, down to -3 scores 2, and lower than -3 scores 1.
The total obtained is then multiplied by 3 to give a tournament composition score.
A 1/2 pt bonus is available for a genuine (non-abusive) theme (see composition guidelines).
Sportsmanship approx. 10% of total tournament score.
Each player will score their opponent after each game (0-4pts).
