Hey guys, I'm from Christchurch and have a large collection of LOTR figures. However there seems to be very few people to play against!
Is there anyone who would be interested in playing a few games? At the moment I've got only one opponent, but I'd like to get a group together so that there will be a bit more variety. If you've got any figures lieing around let me know so we can arrange a game! If theres anyone who wants to give it a go I could provide an army

Cheers

I have a massive evil force, but have only played a house ruled hybrid of the one rulebook and the hobbit rulebook. Also I haven't bothered with the newer army books or the warband list building system.

That sounds good! If you'd be interested in a game sometime let me know :) I'm trying to get some interest in running the Hobbit at Conquest on the 31st October-1st November, would you be interested? I want to have a small points value at 350 points so its easy for everyone to get involved

I have an amalgamation of more or less all of the forces good and evil from LOTR and used to play with the strategy battle game rulebook, recently moved to chch and would love to dust off the dwarves and elves. Plus it'd be a great motivator to get the rest of my LOTR models painted/repaired. I'm not to sure about the new Hobbit rules but it should be easy to pull together a 350+ army without too much trouble. Also is anyone interested in getting a battle companies campaign started??

I'd be keen to do battle companies at some point! At the moment to kickstart things I'm trying to get the Hobbit to run at Conquest on the 31st October-1st November, would you be interested in coming along? I'm looking at doing 400 points. If you like I'd be happy to have a game against you in the next couple of weeks :)

That sounds great! And I guess I'd be sorted for the Hobbit with Wood elves and Dwarves, just means I will need to go into a bit of a painting frenzy to get them up to scratch. I would definitely be keen to get something regular going for LOTR and don't mind helping out if you need a hand with rustling up some terrain or such like, I'm sure I have some ruins and a semi finished castle somewhere...... :)

I have a big collection and we have played war of the ring, keen to keep up the lotr hobby.
i cant get down to the club much but always have an ear to the ground for a game. I have a large Dòl Gûldûr army, some Minas tirith and an Elven Army plus a few odds and ends... lots of terrain.
you can see my stuff on my blog Andys Armies.
im also in chch so if youre still about and keen for some battles in middle earth let me know,
cheers, Andy :D

Hey guys, are any of you interested in playing at Conquest on the 31st October/1st November? It'll be 500 points and it looking quite good at the moment with there even being a bunch of players coming from Dunedin and Methven! I'm probably going to struggle to be available to play before then, but perhaps after the tournament we could get into more regular games and even have a battle companies league

And if you haven't already check out the New Zealand Hobbit League on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/826723854039078/), theres an event on there with details of the tournament!

Unfortunately I won't be able to make conquest as everything is still mostly unpainted and I don't have enough $$$, still keen as to get some regular games though and hopefully playing with my LOTR stuff again might motivate me to crack out the brush :D

It will be using the Hobbit rules.

That's alright, I don't have any free weekends at this stage leading up to Conquest but afterwards perhaps we could get some games in :)

I cant make the tournament i dont think, i posted elsewhere offering to lend my figures.
i also play both the hobbit and war of the ring (with a good set of houserules).
So if you want to play but cant put together an army im happy to help out,
i have enough figures to make a Mordor army, Elves army, maybe a dwarves army.

im also keen to grab a game if ppl can make it to my place in Queenspark Christchurch, friday nights work best for me... i have plenty of terrain.
