25mm DBMM v.2 - The Armies of Rome and her Enemies

The Ancients tournament will be themed, "The armies of Rome and her enemies". All lists must include "Roman" in the name of the list or be one of the enemies included in those lists. The Roman lists are Early Roman to Patrician, including Sub-Roman British. If you do not have an army that fits the theme but wish to play, loan armies will be available but be quick if you need one.

There will be two factions, "Romans" and "Enemies of Rome", each of six players. All games will be Romans vs an Enemy of Rome. When you send your list, please also let me know if you would be prepared to, instead, use an army for the other faction so we can keep the numbers balanced.

There will be competition prizes for the overall winner, the player second in the winner's faction, the winner of the other faction, and the winning faction. There will also be prizes for best army, best terrain etc.

Games will be 400AP, over 4 hours, with terrain, weather, etc. as per the rule book. If you do not want to play all four games, you can register as a team but all players in your team must use the same army.

Hi all

An update on the armies of Rome and her enemies theme we will be playing at ValleyCon. Each game will be Roman vs an enemy of. The factions so far are:

Romans
Dirk Heinsius (Asterixian Romans - a.k.a. Marian)
Craig Ellison (Early Imperial Romans)
Richard Foster (Late Imperial Romans or Patsies)
Scott Neilsen (Sub-Roman British)

Enemies of Rome
Allen Yaxley (Later Carthaginian)
Andrew Bennetts (Later Carthaginian)
Phil Gates (Mithradatic)
John van den Hoeven (Sassanid Persians)

I will use either Thracians or Early Imperial Romans depending on which is needed to keep the factions even. For the record, my preference would be the Thracians.

Please get registrations in quickly as we are limited to 12 places. If those fill up quickly and we have a waiting list we will be able to put a good argument to the Hutt Club committee to give us another table.

Register online at http://www.huttclub.co.nz/events/valleycon/ and please feel free to call me if you need to, home (06) 379 6107, work (04) 495 6835 and mobile 027 344 1073.

Best regards
Vince

Looks like Romans are rubbish under DBMM.
I wonder how they will fare under the same theme at Call 2 Arms ?
