Hi all

I do not expect Mainlanders to travel to Masterton for a One Day International so this is just letting you know what is happening in the 'Rapa.

Mark Saturday, March 29 in your diaries for the inaugural Wairarapa One Day International!

You and your "armies from all over the world" are invited for a day of playing 25mm DBMM and DBR. 400AP for DBMM and whatever is the standard points for DBR. We need a standard points size so no one is disappointed but on the day players can choose to use larger or smaller points totals by mutual agreement - it is a friendly day, with no competitions.

Venue: Chanel College, Herbert Street, Masterton

Arrival: 8:30am to 8:45am

First round: 9am to 1pm

Lunch: 1pm to 1:30pm will be catered at the venue

Second round: 1:30pm to 5:30pm

We will be using the school hall, which has six table-tennis tables. That is, we will be playing on 9'x 5' tables. The College has agreed to reduce its rental for the hall and tables to just $60 for the day so there will be a small table fee to cover that cost.

Please let me know if you will be coming and if you want to play DBMM or DBR. If you are happy to play either, or both, please indicate that, too, so I can make sure we have even numbers of players.

We now have 11 confirmed and another two possible, one depending on work and the other on getting his army finished!

The 12 confirmed for the inaugural Wairarapa One Day International are:

Kelly Gay (Palmerston North), Chris Wheeler (Dannevirke), Phil Gates (Wairarapa), Alastair Duncan (Wellington), Paul Graham (Wellington), David Kinzett (Wairarapa), Allen Yaxley (Hutt Valley), John van den Hoeven (Hutt Valley), Scott Neilsen (Wairarapa), Peter Noble (Hutt Valley), David Mclauchlan (Wairarapa), Vince Cholewa (Wairarapa).

As it is a friendly event, with no competitions, I am not too worried about armies but I will post the full list when I can. To date I have:

Kelly and David McLauchlan are bringing their brand new Marian Romans, David Kinzett has only Anglo-Danes, I will use a reconfigured Seleucid list, and Paul said he will bring something sandy with lots of horse archers.

Well Vince I think with your superb organising skills and the outstanding success of this International Event in the 'rapa you should give serious consideration to hosting the Natcon there in '16.
Well done that Man.

Hi all

I have updated the Masterton Marauders' club blog with a report written by Upper Hutt wargaming stalwart, Allen Yaxley, some photos and a link to the story on page 4 of this morning's Wairarapa Times-Age. Andrew, that's you! The hard copy edition includes more photos, including of Drew Fortune and Alen.
