No, too much information for my tiny brain. I'm already dreaming of elite elephants, dont need dreams of elite medium cavalry as well.

@ Stephen, the denomination as EARLY German is a remeniscent of other rules (unspoken of here) I had in my mind. The older you get.... the harder to forget. Its List 90 anyway
@ Andre, I gave some list analysis individually. It takes too long now to forget the details to give an unbiased in depth analysis of the whole to all.

@ all, thank you for the almost in time delivery. Please remember to fill in Dates and choices in the right top box of the lists all next time so I do not have to retrograde deduct from your choices in your list your overall choice.
In all, I love the mix of armies. A fair representation of the world then and now:
A Gaul (la culture, le accent, la force the frappe.... aaaaah!)
A German (ACHTUNG!)
A Roman (the empire strikes... well... somewhere)
A Northern African (on the boats direction north, where there are jobs and enlightenment)
A Syrian/Near East (lost cause, but causes lots of attention anyway)
A Persian (we are Arians! supremacy looms, oh, King of the Kings!)
An Indian (worlds largest democracy they say, lets see if their maximo leader gets them disciplined....)
A Northern Barbarian/East Russian (well, Putin would not be ok with this denomination, nor would Attila, .. does it mean anything that this nation disappeared in history leaving almost no trace and how will this impact on their performance?)
THREE (3) Chinese (so, statistically, it very, very likely that we will see Chinese supremacy in the end, the end of history, The elephants of time (the ones on the back of the Turtle) might trample 1 Chinese empire, but 3?)

I had fun sorting the lists, have fun playing all!

in my games with 300 Points so fare we never achieved a decisive result in 3.5 hours. Games are fun, much better than 200 pts for my impression, but Armies are just too large to break them within 3.5 hours. I recommend doing, what I have been playing in several international tournaments in Europe.

If an hour before the End, Turn 6 has not been reached. The time for Movement per turn (From rolling first dice to stop being allowed to move anything) is limited to some reasonable time. Like 8 Minutes (we did 5 Minutes with DBM 400 Points Armies that are larger than ADG 300). The rest remains unchanged. The opposing player takes the time and says start and stop. This is to speed the game play up to give a somewhat fair and even number of turns per game and so give everybody a reasonable chance for a result. No loo going brakes during the moves. After the moves, the combats are done as per usual. Its not that bad usually, as armies should have shrunken in size and the positions solidified somewhat 2.5 hours into the game. I found it focusing and a better game actually as you simply had no time to whine, shout at your CP dice or think about the unfairness of life anymore. A much better feeling on how the real army commanders on the field would have needed to act.

Playing 300 points I have only once not had a win or lose in 3 hours. It's just a matter of focusing and playing the game.

Hi all, Ben here

Had a great time and learned heaps, so thanks to all my opponents and hopefully see you all at Natcon!

Lessons Learned:
1. Elephants are scary but Heavy Chariots are TERRIFYING
2. Charge the mixed bow units (you will NOT rally)
3. Roll lots of 6's
4. Never attack Germans in a forest!

Regards,
Ben

You did really well Ben. Certainly much better than me. So a good welcome to the ADLG tournament scene.

Was a good weekend, I liked the draw enduring I didnt play Brent or Tim. Had 4 fun games even if wins were scarce. After most battles I still had a levy unit on the table, which was a slight tragedy.

Thoroughly enjoyable weekend, my thanks to everyone.
Not having to play my usual opponents made it just that much better.
Great to see you joining in Ben, hope to have another epic battle with you.

Brian and Gordon should join in next time too? Nationals?

Aaron

Hot on the heels of CanCon. If the CanCon 2020 competition has a similar result as this year then Warclouds will be the Australasian Grand Finale :)

Nationals are always at Easter. So 10th, 11th, 12th April 2020.
Back to 200points, any army. Either 8 or 9 games of 2 hours. First 3 rounds at least will be against opponents you dont regularly play.
