Some good advice to Brent there, he may delve into the garage again.......
We should have more battles analysed by the 'experts', makes our games even more interesting.

Brent's original plan was sound, to stand on the defensive and have his longbows shoot up my smaller army as it attacked. Unfortunately his archers didn't protect their bowstrings from the abysmal Welsh drizzle. My mixed units used water-resistant bamboo fibre strings and outshot his more numerous archers.
His only mistake was not covering my pathetic cavalry on my extreme right, they got behind his light horse and prevented them evading when charged by my elephants.
The massed charge of elite elephants, elite guardsmen and enraged mixed units simply overwhelmed his line

Ahh, they are longbow on the hill.
Agreed you would expect them to do enough to hold on their pedestal until the flanks caved in under the weight of Welsh dross.

Like any army, you have to play them enough times to know when to hold'em, know when to fold'em, Know when to walk away and know when to run.

Must break out the Thracians again, I don't think any of the MF actually won a combat in their abysmal introduction to ADG.

Laser cut ADLG 25mm measuring sticks showed up. 3mm MDF.

Shape means you have 1, 2, 3, and 4 distances with the sides. (6, 12, 18 and 24cm). Two sticks makes it easy to ensure you're not double moving within 4 of the enemy, can measure up to 8 for artillery or command range, can measure deployment zone easily and so on.

$5 for two. Let me know if you want a set.

Yes please. I’ll take two sets (one for Bryan Fowler who had his heart valve replacement this week and is in recovery). Please give my sets to Brian/Andre and I will arrange to collect from them. Either give me your bank account or get the cash off them and I’ll see them right, honest Gov.

My Republican Romans make their debut, defeating Matt's Cathaginians, and Kerry's Persians defeat Andre's Palmyrans.

Richard Woolford does OK over the weekend at the Ohio USA 25mm tournament (3 games, 1 day).

+++++++++++++
We had a great event yesterday in Toledo at Drums. People from Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania got together to do some competitive and fun 25mm gaming.

The final results are:

1. Richard Woolford - #96 -Franks, Alemanni, Burgundi, Suevi - 271 pts
2. Jeff Herzog - #218- Mongol Empire - 216 pts
3. Steve Roper - #266 - Yi Korean - 187 pts
4. George Deutsch - #102-Parthia - 160 pts
5. Mike Crotteau - #55-Carthaginian -157 pts
6. Paul Ohtonen - #30-Mycenean - 136 pts
7. Mike Ohtonen - #222- Medieval Scots - 134 pts
8. Joe Alberti - #53-Republican Roman - 44 pts

Congratulations to Richard for his first place win! His Germanic tribes won each round they battled in! Well played!

Thank you to all participants for making the drive to Toledo and joining the event. We need to get together for another HMGS Great Lakes event in the future.
